Royal Navy Commander, Will King and Ian Chinn, Head of Programmes at Rolls-Royce visited BEL Engineering this week. During their visit, Will and Ian spoke with our employees about the importance of various naval programmes, as well as his experience as a submariner living on board an operating vessel.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for our employees to gain an insight into where the components they work with are finally used.
Ian Chinn, Head of Programmes at Rolls-Royce, said: “The limited public visibility and confidential nature of our programmes mean it can be difficult to communicate the project’s importance and benefits. Through visiting our key suppliers, we hope to communicate the value every member of the wider submarine team plays, from the supply chain to the operators at sea.”
Royal Navy Commander Will King, added: “Every person involved with the manufacture, maintenance and deployment of these submarines is absolutely essential to its success. BEL Engineering’s state of the art facility and skilled workforce clearly demonstrates the commitment required to achieve this.”
